30 minutes is plenty

If your student is not done after 30 minutes of focused effort, just sign it off on the bottom of the assignment and they can have full credit.  If it is a nightly occurrence please contact me, we may want to set up some in-school tutoring to support your student.

Learn about the HW points sheet

Students get HW M-Th and check it the next day in class.  Parents can track progress every day by asking to see the accumulated points on the HW page.  Late work is accepted until the end of each week

Musicians and Athletes practice

Hw is your student's way to practice a new skill or sharpen an old one.  HW is not a quiz, the answer key is included in most assignments so students can take responsibility for making sure they are practicing correctly.

Understanding = studying for next quiz

Just "doing" the HW may not be good for your student.  Understanding the work and paying attention to detail will be what helps them to learn (and to pass their next quiz).
